The mangosteen fruit is native to the Southeast Asian countries (i.e. Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Indonesia). Nicknamed "The Queen of Fruits" by many, the mangosteen has been revered for centuries in folk medicine for its ability to help with infections, fatigue, skin conditions and many other different diseases.
The phytoceuticals (plant chemicals) of the mangosteen have been widely studied, but none as much as the class of highly active substances called Xanthones.
