Momordica charantia belongs to the family Rubiaceae.
Root flat-terete, unequal in length, 1-2 cm in diameter. Cortex dull grey,
with annular dehiscences and exposed fine xylem, appearing as a catena. Cross

yellow-white xylem which occupies 1/4 diameter, with slightly dentate

attributive to “kidney and liver channels” in Chinese Traditional
Medicine. 1、Warm
the kidney and enhance sexuality Morindae
officinalis extract has been used to enhance
sexuality for a long history in China and the Far East cultures. In a
study of 35 men suffering from weak erection, premature ejaculation, and
30 women suffering from infertility and frigidity were treated with
250-300mg Morindae
officinalis extract in an open clinical trial
that lasted for three months. More than 90 percent patients recognized a
substantial improvement in these symptoms as a result of the treatment. 2、Strengthen the tendons and bones, expel cold and dampness It is effective for hypofunction of liver and kidney manifested as weakness of extremities, lassitude and cold pain of the waist and knees; or chronic rheumatism with arthralgia, weakness, cold pain of the joints, fatigue and pale tongue. 3、High Blood Pressure In a study
of people with heart diseases and high blood pressure, those who took Morindae
officinalis extract experienced a significant
reduction in diastolic blood pressure (pressure on blood vessels when the
heart is at rest) compared to those who took placebo. Morindin,
vitamin C and asperuloside. Reference: Aruna, K. and V.M. Sivaramakrishnan. "Anticarcinogenic Effects of the Essential Oils from Cumin, Poppy and Basil." Food Chem Toxicol. 1992;30(11):953-56.
